Thanks for visiting my website - last update Feb '10

My name is Pete Lynn and I'm a freelance musician, specialising in guitar and percussion. I work mainly with KS1 to 3 kids and preschoolers / foundation at the moment through local playteams, Surestart, the local Libraries service and similar organisations as well as privately tutoring and session work. Please click on the 'Workshops' button below for more details on this and what I can do for you! STOP PRESS... NEW TRAD FOLK MP3S AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD NOW! CLICK ABOVE OR MUSIC!

I'm also half of the RAINBOW STRIPES, Nottingham's favourite wigglin' and gigglin' music and movement group for KS1, foundation and preschool children, working with SureStart throughout Nottingham to provide quality musical activities with many satisfied organisations, NFPs and private customers to our credit. Please click on the 'Rainbow Stripes' button below to find out how we can add another dimension to your event or playgroup. STOP PRESS...NEW SITE, NEW ALBUM APRIL 6TH, FREE EP VERY SOON! Other activities and services I can offer include...

Solo guitar mood music for functions, weddings etc, full two hour set of classics, folk and jazz. References available, fully insured and CRB checked.

I've also written for various publishers and designed some traditional games (card games, RPGs and more abstract pastimes) and had some critical success with them, both through my own company and other game manufacturers. No button for that, but contact me and look for samples in the website. STOP PRESS... NEW GAMES IN THE PIPELINE?... STOP STOP PRESS.... NAH, TOO BUSY! ;-)

  • 2/10 - Christmas and this year so far... what a blur! See above for what we've been up to, loads of recorded stuff coming up from the Rainbow Stripes - my stuff gracefully received, thanks everyone. Lots of surprises for this year from myself and the Stripes, keep yer eyes peeled ;-)
  • 9/09 - how fast has this year gone? Just back from O.T.T, another successful children's area. Prospects of working at Alchemy festival in Lincolnshire next week. This year's seen a lot of working with the organisations mentioned above and the EIP, with the Stripes going from strength to strength. MP3s coming soon from both the Rainbow Stripes (singing and wiggling craziness!) and myself (fingerstyle traditional British folk songs with three guitars and percussion), available from external music sites. Help us chart!
  • 9/08 - I'm fresh back from 'Off The Tracks', having worked the Children's area with my lovely wife and Sue Rainbowstripe... can confirm regular Rainbow Stripe bookings at Sherwood and Clifton Surestarts, starting soon. Recording begins in earnest this week on both my own tunes and the Rainbow Stripes, still confirming PR, Distro etc. for both, stay tuned!
  • 8/08 - I've been confirmed to play a string of dates for the Libraries Service, again dressed as a pirate (!), for Bookstart month in October. With a nautical theme and a big blue bear, should be fun. I met the Poet Laureate for Cheshire during the job below, he's given me a poem for it, what a nice guy and he could play the guitar...
  • 8/08 - Just back from working with the excellent Chester Performs on their 'Roam The Rows' event, during which I became 'Pirate Pete, human karaoke', playing some classics for shoppers and tourists to join in with. Photos as soon as possible, see www.chesterperforms.com for more details.
  • 7/08 - Sue RainbowStripe and myself went to Heart FM recently to record the unofficial National Anthem of Sneinton Dale...written for future workshops in the area, seemed to go down well! Thanks to the Morning Team for having us.
  • 7/08 - I played in Sneinton Hermitage caves as part of Sneinton Festival recently - had to go over some safety tape to climb down the stairs for a photo, it was all lit up by a theatrical company, truly surreal. The photo made me look like Swamp Thing.
  • 7/08 - Previous to this we were on TWENTY sessions a week for six solid months or so. Every response was so positive, thanks to the kids of St. Anns and Sneinton for being such fantastic Wigglers and Gigglers!
  • 7/08 - Presently I'm gearing up to recording two brand new albums, all tracks will be downloadable from selected sites with backup material and samples downloadable right here. One's the eagerly awaited Rainbow Stripes debut, the other's my first solo recordings since The Glowbuzzers imploded.  Hope you like what you hear...
